For the discerning golfer, heading out on a golf holiday will be the highlight of the year. Sun, sea and a good back 9 can make for a fantastic trip and will no doubt leave you celebrating or cursing in equal measure depending on how you fare on the greens. Whatever happens, it’s important to ensure that you aren’t left cursing because of issues with your travel insurance. At Navigator, we’ll try to ensure that you have a suitable policy to cover golf-related medical emergencies.
We know that the set of golf clubs in your bag will probably be worth more than everything in your suitcase combined and you may be better advised to get them covered on your household insurance, due to the low limits on travel insurance policies. We offer golf travel insurance policies which will offer some cover in the event that clubs go missing on a flight, are damaged en route or you break them in half after a bad swing (ok, maybe not that!), but cover is severely restricted by the Single Item/Set Limit on the policy. We basically want to make sure that from the moment you carry your clubs out the front door to the moment you return they are safe and sound, so we recommend that you check to make sure they are covered by your household contents cover, then you can rest easy in the knowledge that your golf holiday insurance will cover the rest of your baggage and give you medical cover in the event of an accident on the golf course.
Depending on how many golf holidays you can squeeze into one year, it’s likely you’ll be choosing from Navigator’s Annual Multi Trip policy or Short Stay Single Trip policy. For those who can only squeeze in the one trip a year then the Short Stay option will be best, but if you also plan on having a family holiday in the same year then this can be incorporated into an Annual Multi-Trip policy.
