Australia Travel Insurance

Australia remains at the top of many destination wish lists. There are few countries with such an extraordinary range of sights and experiences as Australia. One day you can be scuba diving off the Great Barrier Reef or exploring the tropical rainforests of Queensland. A short flight away are the arid desert regions of the Northern Territory, with Alice Springs and Uluru.

Packed with Variety

Most Australians live near the sea, which is no surprise. The beaches are plentiful and clean and the marine life breathtaking. From Perth, why not take an overland trip up the West cost to Broome, taking in the magnificent Ningaloo Marine Park and Cape Range National Park. This coast has some of the most easily accessible areas where you can see Whale Sharks and other shark species, dolphins, Manta Rays, turtles, Humpback Whales and a vast array of stunning coral reef fish species.

A visit to Cairns and the tropical north of Queensland is a must too. Tourism is big in this region, but they have managed to accommodate a large influx of visitors without spoiling the experience. The Great Barrier Reef is easily accessible from Cairns and, is without doubt, an experience of a lifetime. To get the most from a visit to the reef, you need to get wet and join the local marine life. Snorkelling or diving on the reef is easy and the clear water ensures magnificent views of the wildlife. If that’s not for you, try a semi-submarine or glass-bottom boat. There are ample opportunities to experience the tropical rainforest too if you want a change from the ocean. Excursions from Cairns and Port Douglas can take you up to the Cape York Peninsular.

Australia Travel Insurance Policies

Our Backpacker, Standard, Silver and Gold travel insurance policies are ideal for your visit to Australia. Even the entry levels of these policies will cover you to take part in a wide range of sports and activities, such as scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, snorkelling, bungee jumping, white water rafting etc. If you feel more adventurous, Australia has ample opportunities to try some of the more extreme sports, such as skydiving etc. These can often be covered in the Action or Action Plus levels of our Short Stay and Annual Multi-Trip Silver and Gold travel insurance or the higher Activity Packs of the Backpacker and Standard policies. A few of the most extreme sports will require referral to our underwriters and will carry additional conditions and sometimes additional premium.

Australia has just about everything. Beautiful cities, such as Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Darwin, pristine beaches, coral reef and marine parks, fascinating desert rock formations and scenery, such as Uluru, Katherine Gorge, the Olgas and the Kimberley, even skiing in the Snowy Mountains – what are you waiting for?
